Central Florida Child Health Program Inc. (CFCHP) is now accepting applications for HIPPY Coordinator.

Job Purpose:

Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngster (HIPPY) is a home visitation program that focuses on parent involved, early learning and provides solutions that strengthen families. A HIPPY coordinator is passionate about children, dedicated to early childhood education, and empowers parents to be their child’s first teacher. The HIPPY coordinator will have strong managerial/leadership skills that provide the framework to oversee day-to-day operations, supervise HIPPY home visitors, ensure fidelity to the HIPPY model, and adhere to policies and procedures. The coordinator will provide ongoing training to home visitors and ensure accurate data and records are collected and maintained.

Responsibilities:

• Managing the HIPPY program in accordance with the terms specified in the contract
• Recruitment and selection of eligible HIPPY children/families and home visiting staff
• Ongoing supervision and training of home visitors, which should include the planning and execution of an appropriate staff development plan
• Making a minimum of three home visits annually to observe each home visitor
• Planning and executing group meetings that include the provision of an enrichment activity and may include role playing the curriculum
• Training staff in data entry and monitor data quality to ensure accurate reports may be pulled from the FL HIPPY web-based data collection system
• Planning and preparation for initial, follow-up or HIPPY accreditation site visits by FL HIPPY staff
• Data entry and report generation
• Securing speakers, purchasing materials or refreshments and/or setting up for group meetings
• Processing paperwork for participant referrals to social service, or other agencies
• Working in conjunction with the local HIPPY advisory committee
• Establishing effective partnerships with other human service organizations to ensure optimal service delivery to participating families
• Creation of outreach materials, rosters, data bases and other general administrative duties
• Organizing curriculum and props for weekly staff meeting
• Participation in local (regional) and national HIPPY conferences and meetings
• Must have reliable transportation

Skills/Requirements:

• College Diploma preferable in Early Childhood Education or other related field
• Excellent managerial skills
• Ability to keep a schedule and meet specific deadlines, good time management skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and take initiative
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Successfully meet Level 2 background screening requirements
• Have a valid Florida Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance required
• Able to work flexible hours
• Work collaboratively with other professionals, personnel, and direct service providers
• Must be familiar and comfortable working with diverse populations in their homes
• Child Development Associate (CDA) or some additional training, education, or work experience in child development a plus
• Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus

Salary: $40,000 – 45,000 annually
