Now Hiring: HIPPY Coordinator

Central Florida Child Health Program Inc. (CFCHP) is now accepting applications for HIPPY Home Visitor.

Job Purpose:

Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngster (HIPPY) is a home visitation program that focuses on parent involved, early learning and provides solutions that strengthen families. HIPPY home visitor is passionate about children, early childhood education, and empowering parents to be their child’s first teacher. By providing support and education to parents, the HIPPY home visitor is a vital link in achieving early academic success for children and their families. The HIPPY home visitor also provides psychosocial support to the family through collaboration with other agencies and professionals.

Job Duties:

  • Recruit and enroll eligible families to participate in the HIPPY program.
  • Obtain required eligibility documentation on each enrolled family.
  • Attend mandatory weekly staff meetings.
  • Organize material and information for in-home visits with families.
  • Role-play HIPPY curriculum with your “practice child”, at staff meetings, and with parents in their home on a weekly basis
  • Submit complete and accurate reports in a timely manner to HIPPY Coordinator
  • Assist with planning and implementation of parent group meetings (minimum of 6 meetings per year)
  • Attend local and state required training.
  • Attend special events for community outreach and assist with special projects to build positive relationships with HIPPY families and the community at large.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to maintain the success of the agency and HIPPY program.

Skills/Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, and one (1) year of experience working with children and families required. Being actively enrolled or having completed a HIPPY program may substitute for six (6) months of experience.
  • Ability to keep a schedule and meet specific deadlines, good time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and take initiative.
  • Able to work flexible hours.
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals, personnel, and direct service providers
  • Must be familiar and comfortable working with diverse populations in their homes.
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) or some additional training, education, or work experience in child development a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written.
  • Must have basic computer skills.
  • Successfully meet Level 2 background screening requirements
  • Have a valid Florida Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance required.
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English or Creole/English strongly preferred.

Job Types: Part-time

Schedule: Monday-Friday. May be required to work evenings and weekends for recruitment events. Some evenings may be required for home visits until 7PM.

Salary: $14- $15.00 /hour
